After 25 years of celebrating the arts in our city, we’re evolving with a change in how we look and feel.

Call it a makeover. And a welcome one after a few challenging years.

It’s a change that reflects how we feel as a festival and how we feel about our city.

We can’t wait to start this new chapter with you – more will be revealed soon.

And to celebrate our new look, we’re releasing the first act of our 2023 line up

THE SOUNDTRACKS FROM QUENTIN TARANTINO’S
RESERVOIR DOGS & PULP FICTION

Liberty Stage

Performed live in concert – starring Tami Neilson, Laughton Kora (Kora), Milan Borich (Pluto) and Booga Beazley (Head Like a Hole).
Join a star studded band of Kiwi music icons as they rock ’n’ roll through some of the wickedest music on celluloid, backed by the phenomenal Big Band Royale. Quentin Tarantino’s blockbuster arrival in the early 1990s marked a stunning rebirth of cinematic cool steeped in the classiest kind of Top 40 nostalgia.
Reservoir Dogs offset its uber-violence with the smooth ’70s grooves of Hooked on a Feeling and Stuck in the Middle with You. Two years later, the surf guitar of Dick Dale’s Misirlou kick-started Pulp Fiction’s playlist of sweet rockin’ soul with Dusty Springfield, Urge Overkill, Chuck Berry and more.
Bring your dancing shoes for a night of ’70s grooves, surf guitar and sweet rockin soul on the Rhodo Lawn.
