Food and Beverage

The Hamilton Arts Festival Toi Ora ki Kirikiriroa takes pride in being a relaxed whānau-friendly event which encourages and monitors the responsible use of alcohol. There is a permanent liquor ban in place outside of our specially licensed areas from 10pm each night. Unless indicated otherwise within the event listing, HAF events are strictly no BYO alcohol.

Thanks to our new best friends at Montana Food & Events, there will be a selection of food and drinks available for purchase at the festival from 5pm until close every night. We invite you to come and enjoy a meal with us at the Festival Hub while taking in the free live entertainment from the University of Waikato Stage of Enlightenment (Turtle Lake Stage).

Wet Weather

Wet Weather venues are in place for events where possible.

Please check the event page on our website or social media for weather related updates and information. Note, other than Harkness Henry’s Emporium of Scintillating Wonders, The Meteor Theatre and the Clarence Street Theatre, most venues are outside, so do come prepared for all possible weather situations.

Sound Bleeds

Given the outdoor nature of the gardens and this site-specific setting, performances may experience sound bleeds. Whereby we do our best to minimise this we like to think this adds to the atmosphere of the festival and unfortunately cannot issue refunds to audience members for sound bleeds.

Seating

All shows are seated unless ‘BYO seating’ is indicated.
